Here comes Jillery

As we noted back on June 21, Jillery, the jewelry and home accessories shop, is moving from its current home on East 10th Street to the corner of East Seventh Street and Avenue B.

The 10th Street location closed yesterday... and the folks from Jillery have been filling up the new shop... and, as this photo by Dave on 7th shows, they're working on the exterior as well.

No opening date for the new location just yet. (Per the Jillery Facebook page: " Hopefully we will be open soon. We are working on it!")

The corner spot was last home to most recently home to Amaran.

I like that so many businesses are doing funky shit with their exteriors recently. I have this crazy cream Century Gothic and light grey will never be seen again.

Have shopped--and been shopped for--at Jillery for years. Excited to have as a neighbor.

I just hope the colors don't glow at night and innocently trigger drunk frat boys' puke muscle.

The photo seems to be over-saturated. I hope the fuscia isn't as bright as it looks here.

Did Barney and Barbie just move in? Didn't know they were a couple.

Jillery is a great place! I shopped there at their old location and they had a great mix of vintage and new items and fair prices. And she was so nice and wrapped my mom's gift with loving care. Welcome Jillery!

Looks like they're still working on the place, but it seems more like a stockroom than a shop (flor. lighting, metal shelves, etc). I'm all for someone's vision, especially in our beloved EV, but I am not at all a fan of those colors; they are garish, kind of an eyesore on that block, and would look more appropriate in SF/Haight Ashbury (the touristy version of it anyway). Unfortunately, on that block, their thing really sticks out, especially with those colors.
