Higher Empire announces itself on 1st Avenue

Higher Empire signage arrived over at 71 First Ave. between Fourth Street and Fifth Street in recent days.

According to the Higher Empire website, the business is described as a "cannabis club and delivery service."

You can hit the website here for more on the products/services, etc. They have an Instagram account too.

This storefront was previously Alex Shoe & Watch Repair. Alex never reopened after the PAUSE of March 2020.

I suspect Letisha James will address the legality of these cannabis clubs

Quite a change from the old Blue Door Store and Black Door Store on East 10th Street...

Enough smoke shops and cannabis shops. Getting ridiculous now

Alex Shoe and Watch Repair was much more useful. They and their cousin's shop on 2nd Ave between 3/4 are missed.
The Black and Blue Door on 10th Street mention above, thanks for the memories.
Medical findings on the use of the stronger cannabis of the past few years, normalized and sold so widely these days, is going to be interesting in the coming years. Old pot heads in Amsterdam tell me that there is more discussion about it there now that there is a much larger population of aging users who are suffering the effects. Check out the "Long-term effects of cannabis" wiki.

It's going to be a godsend for the vacancies around when Cannabis shops are really allowed to open. Obviously a lot are open in the gray area but there will be so many more when stores are actually licensed and permitted to open.

Not so fast Neighbor, only people with prior marijuana convictions or related to someone convicted can apply for a license.that said, I'm sure it won't be hard to find someone to be an in-name only business partner namehttps://nypost.com/2022/03/09/ny-to-limit-marijuana-permit-eligibility-to-those-convicted-of-pot-related-offenses/amp/
