Around 8pm, 1st Ave was totally insane. The traffic was so backed up, buses were turning (trying) down 5th St to get to 2nd Ave. And the heat...my god, I thought I'd entered Mordor.

What a mess. As one friend noted last night: It's like living on the edge of the mouth of Hell.
