Last year's event was a wonderful celebration of independent publishers, zine makers, and East Village DIY culture and history. Join us as we come together once again for this new zine fair tradition on St. Mark's Place. Free and open to the public.
Like the 2021 edition (relive it here!), there will be corresponding events in several neighborhood community gardens...here.
I was active in small press publishing—and book/magazine shows—in the 1970s and 80s in NYC. Also published science fiction fanzines starting in the 1960s, with press runs of a few dozen, up to several thousand. I see that the word "fanzine," which once referred only to science fiction fanzines, has achieved much greater use. For a vast resourcew of digitized SF fanzines going back to the 1930s, go to .
Last year was a fantastic event, this is one of the last breaths of the arts scenes in Manhattan. A zine is a great way to express and gain cultural perspective, see ya there!
Long live See Hear and the Fact sheet 5 and OP magazine. Long live ZINES!
I see the link for fanac dot org didn't appear. Go there for a vast archive of thousands of digitized science fiction fanzines!
Man I loved last year except the DJ was so frikkin' loud in the middle of the block not great for those who live here hopefully they'll be more considerate this year
