Early in the morning on Dec. 5, two men reportedly stabbed a 49-year-old man multiple times in the back as he entered the Skyline Spa on East Ninth Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue.

NBC 4 reports today that the NYPD has arrested two suspects, Phillip Daniel, 24, and Emmanuel Rodman, 23, who live on the same block on the Upper West Side. Police said the men were charged with attempted murder and assault.

NBC reports that it was not clear if they knew the victim, who was treated and released for his injuries at Bellevue.

Sounds like ten years and they come out with a bigger chip on their shoulder. Get on the beat cops.

Guess that gives an alternate meaning to the complaint of "people from uptown invading our neighborhood".

Yep, ever since this news broke I've wondered if there's more to this incident. Skyline is open 24 hours with late night early morning gay clientele. Was it attempted robbery, some personal spat or maybe a hate crime? Glad they are behind bars. Hope they get to the bottom of it.

Disgusting.

And pardon me for my naïveté, but I don't understand the "attempted murder" distinction.
Because they failed in the murder attempt, the sentence is lessened?
Shouldn't thugs like this be locked up for life?
