Report: NYPD looking for suspect who took $60 plumber's snake from 4th Street apartment

DNAinfo has more on the story:

The burglar walked into the back of the building near East Fourth Street and Avenue C at around 10 a.m. on April 7 and reached into an open window, grabbing the plumber's snake, which is valued at around $60, police said.

And there is video...

Anyone with information that could help in the investigation is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). You may also submit tips online.

$60??? Maybe for a brand spanking new plumbing snake. You know that old cliche. The moment you drive a new plumbing snake off the lot, it loses at least ten percent of its value. Anyways, seriously why bother the public over a stolen plumbing snake? Must have belonged to one of NYPD's own or something.

Is that the same burglar who has been hitting all those apartments around here? 4th and C is right in the center of the crime spree.

Plumber's snakes - are they the poisonous ones, or am I thinking of the rattling ones?

The weird part of that video is at https://youtu.be/qV-VrwxKL_Q?t=12 - when he sticks his hat into the wall. Is there like a time portal there?

Now THAT'S some quality CCTV clarity.

WTF ? I've gone to them for much more serious crimes and they could give a shit less. I supposed it was a plumbers snake of someone friendly with the NYPD.

Because there have been numerous burglaries in the area and this guy has probably done more than one burglary. But it's good to see that you find fault in the NYPD taking a burglary irregardless of the value of the property seriously.

Hey stupid 7:00pm is not "faulting" the cops for taking the theft seriously, he/she is saying it's ridiculous that they're putting out a poster for a guy who stole a fucking plumber's snake because whoever had it stolen is a pal of the Ninth Precinct, WTF else? You think they'd make a poster like that for anyone else? Get real. If they're gonna make a poster for that, they should make a poster for EVERY neighborhood theft as well as every violent crime.
