165 Avenue A being prepped for a bar/restaurant?
Speaking of this stretch of Avenue A... several residents have said that 165, the former home of the Monk Thrift Shop, is being turned into a bar/restaurant...
The space is adjacent to Diablo Royale Este. Nothing from the DOB suggests that a restaurant is (legally) in the works...

A bar/restaurant? Seriously? Now there's a novel surprise, wonder who was thinking out of the box for this space?!?
1. This is directly next to a bar (Diablo) which is next to a bar (Hifi) which is next to a restaurant/bar (Westville) which is across from a bar (Bar On A) which is on the same block as a restaurant/bar (Orologio) which is next to a restaurant/bar (Horus).
2. This is directly next door to the Girls and Boys club of America.
3. This is in a resolution zone.
4. This is on a block with some of the most vocal neighbors on the LES (finger pointing directly at my face).
To the bar owner: save your money and goto Willamsburg, Brooklyn. The kids will welcome you.
I heard from someone who worked on the construction of Diablo that this next door place will sell bagels
