Today in videos lampooning Citi Bikes

Posted last Thursday by the folks at Above Average. And filmed in the East Village.

May have been funnier (or more relevant!) back in, say, early June.

Still...

H/T THE NOTORIOUS L.I.B.E.R.A.T.I.O.N.

Meh. I walked past these kids filming at the station at E 6th and Ave B and saw them repeatedly slam and bang on the bike. Not cool. You're not funny enough to justify damaging bikes some people like to use, despite the system's many imperfection.

Right on! 1:00 mark, is what I feel like doing whenever I see these clueless affected citi bikers. And no need to lampoon citi bikes; citi bike is a lampoon!

The use of the word "meh" isn't funny either.

Anon 9.44: Contrary to these "film makers", I wasn't trying to be funny and nothing was at risk of sustaining damage during the writing of my comment.

Do you have any other comment to contribute?

Yeah this just isn't that funny. Citibike is ripe for this treatment - especially in NYC where everyone is too cool for everything - but this falls flat. The people who like this are probably avid fans of Two and a Half Men or the Big Bang Theory.

Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it isn't so.

We live in an age when unnecessary things are our only necessities.

Big Bang Theory is a riot. Sounds like you may be a Shiti customer?

Mmmmm no, I'd say Big Bang Theory is along the same lines as Family Guy. Pedestrian. Lame. Predictable.

Get over yourselves. Citi Bikes are here to stay and abusing them (while filming) is childish and NOT FUNNY!

As distasteful this entity is, I'm kind of tired of the constant petty vandalism that just runs down civilization. That said I do remember being young once and needing to fuck shit up. I now understand the fragility of most businesses - and of civilized society.

No, the Citi Bikers and Citi Bikes need to get over themselves. Bunch of narcissists and self-involved that they cant' see outside of themselves. Yeah, they're here to stay, but not for long. To all you who compare these to Paris and that it works there, keep looking through that looking glass http://www.theatlanticcities.com/commute/2013/09/paris-thefts-and-vandalism-could-force-bike-share-shrink/7014/.
