As we mentioned on Saturday, d.b.a. is back open with new ownership at 41 First Ave. between East Third Street and East Second Street.
The bar was closed for renovations for several weeks... we haven't had a chance to stop in ourselves, but we hear that the place essentially has the same look and feel ... except for the bathrooms.

Nice, yes, but for how long?
nicer bathrooms is nice and all but did they clean or replace the lines for the taps? it was getting to be a real disappointment every time I went with warm flat beer. You can kinda just taste a dirty line.

Looks like it's all been cleaned and polished. Didn't get a chance to take a photo of the ladies for fear of arrest. New tin ceiling, which was about 80% painted when I was there Monday, so looks like renovations are continuing. Still had Fullers ESB on tap thankfully!
They flushed the toilet. The rest is just commentary.
I stopped in tonight after work for a couple of pints. Before I left I went into the men's room and while peeing, I had the idea to pee all over the wall, so I did!
No school like the old school.
Oh, I'm so excited they're back! It would've been a real shame to lose this gem.
