Tht's it for One Plus One on First Avenue between First Street and Second Street. A note on the door thanks customers for their patronage (and offers an apology for any inconvenience the closure may have caused) ...
The same folks apparently own
Joyful Nail at 35 Avenue A.
The closing of One Plus One may also effectively end any confusion that people may have with the bar One and One a storefront away...

The space that's occupied by the current bar One on One in the 60s-70s was Mikes bar, known as a "bucket of blood" because of the recurrent fights. Mid 70s it became the Baltyk Restaurant. Owned and operated by the founder of Downtown Beirut on 1st Ave. The Baltyk restaurant is where Lucy of Lucy's bar on Ave A first worked when arriving in the U..S in the around 1981 or so.
1980's it was called the "Pig"
How come 1+1 = 0 business. Sorrow for this place closing.
As long as there's still some nail salons in the neighborhood; where would I get my mani-pedi otherwise? (God forbid I should have to go down to Clinton Street!)
After the Baltyk it became the Levee, started by the owner of Two Boots. There was a fire in the kitchen in 1995 which closed it down. The Pig opened next.
