Sales are now underway at 277 E. Seventh St., the luxury condos near Avenue D now going by Seven East Village ... complete with this for the branding — the shirtless, bearded guy riding a (Citi?) Bike on First Avenue at St. Mark's Place (inexplicably standing in for East Seventh Street)...
Curbed swung by the kick-off event (we were not invited!) the other night (where they raffled off a Vespa!). You can head over there for a lot of photos of the model units and people in suits and stuff.
So far, just two of the six units are on the market, including Penthouse B ($2.05 million).
Let's take a look at the OMG listing from the gang at Nest Seekers (the official building site is here):

Of course, it seems like a lot of the neighbors already hate this building given the incessant noise from construction. Which may be why Curbed's correspondent overheard this at the event:

Gorgeous apartment. Location is crappy, but the price isn't unreasonable. We are kind of on the market, but I would never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever buy anything from the yahoos behind that ridiculous advertisement! As a resident of 9th street I am personally (and probably unreasonably) offended!
I live in the Seven East Village Building on 277 East 7th Street. My name is Patrick Bateman. I'm 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial masque which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion. There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman. Some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me. Only an entity. Something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours, and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable, I simply am not there.

Patrick Bateman, you forgot the pig blood cleansing enemas, the bacon flavored douches and the pig knuckle smoothies, otherwise your swine based lifestyle sounds a bit boar-ing if you know what I mean.
Location, location, location. $2MM for an apartment across the street from housing projects. I know this type of shit is normal in NYC 2015, but I still don't get it, probably never will.
To paraphrase Bill Zecekendorf "If I can just scratch up the $50K for a down payment, I'll be able to borrow the $2MM" to make the deal.
I guess you just gotta think big!

Friend, when you live at 277 E. Seventh St, you don't need to go anywhere. The world comes to you.
This place has ghosts. I would never live there.

What a breathtaking view of the tenements across the street -- worth every penny....to some sucker!!
It's a beautiful building I watched it go up from my living room window pity its not a rental that would move but 2m condos a stone throw away from Jacob Riis projects not likely to sell quickly what sells quickly on Ave D is Drugs...someday but not anytime soon.
Actual Flash its down the street across the street are a set of "Captain Houses' pre civil war. Owned by Merchant ship owners when the East River came up to Ave D they look like they were built in 1850's 7th street has a lot of nice residential housing both old and contemporary. New Condo's on 7th btwn B&C went quickly to sale far enough away from the blight.
Anon 10:15: That's not the view in the ad copy posted here -- they look like tenements to me.
I love the old houses you speak of, which ought to be land-marked, lest they meet the fate of the 2 schuls destroyed on East Fourth a few years ago....
