Polonia means the Polish dispora, 15 to 20 million people, meaning they're gone from the Lower East Side, as are the Ukrainians, Lithuanians, etc.

sorry to see this go. One of the first places I took my son. He loved to eat chicken soup and piorgie sitting in that front window seat. I'll miss it and so will he...though now he likes Domincan food better so that helps...

You mean Streecha Ukrainian Kitchen on 7th St.? That's one of my favorite places in the EV but nah, it's not really a regular restaurant and they have limited hours.
Ukrainian National Home is still open and it's hardly churchy.
