Santa likely won't be here until after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Seeing as there is only one Santa.

Many tree selling locations pay money to the Parks Department. Usually around $10,000 to $30,000 for the prime spots.
For locations that aren't under the Parks department, Mayor LaGuardia signed a rule/law that says you don't need a license to sell Christmas trees.
