Here is a new building on East 14th Street

After nearly a two-year gut renovation and one-floor extension … workers have removed the scaffolding and construction netting from 212 E. 14th St. near Third Avenue.

And here you go…

Looks inoffensively generic enough…

The retail space has been on the market. The storefront was most recently the Super Saving Store, which closed in June 2011.

Previously on EV Grieve:
Residential, retail and an additional floor for 212 E. 14th St.

That was such a great store for cheap necessities, and the guys that ran it were always so nice. I have no doubt I won't be able to afford/will have no interest in whatever takes its place.

soon bad. What exactly was wrong with the facade of the building before? The wall to wall windows of the 2nd and 3rd floors were great and I can't believe they took off the original architectural detail at the top. The barbarians have taken over.

looks gorgeous, because there's no pink brick or fedders sleeves. queens would embrace this building in a heartbeat.

Grieve, please stop showing us pictures the back of these architectural wonders, I'm sure the front of the building is much more attracttive than this. Wait, this is the front? Nevermind.
