A mid-summer look at the wisteria of Stuyvesant Street

Photo yesterday by Steven

The wisteria ("the purple paradise of flowering beauty") outside 35 Stuyvesant St. at 10th Street is looking quite lush here as we enter August and the opening weekend for Brad Pitt's "Bullet Train" ... this after a slow start back in the spring, prompting concerns of root disease or something else not good. All appears well for now.

Looks great - thanks for sharing

It rallied but the base still needs to be treated, some kind of bug is eating away at the left side of it.

I walked by a few other wisterias in Manhattan (West Village, etc.), and they also were not blooming. So, perhaps it's more do do with external weather/city environment factors than our lovely East Village one being diseased.

Oh my, it’s beautiful but bad bad bad for the masonry. (If in fact it’s growing on the side of the building.)

Yes, I live a block away, and always love to see this.
