... and we removed the post from earlier of the woman allegedly using a slice of Artichoke Pizza as a pillow... the person who sent along the photo was told that it was from the East Village... it was not. Looks like Cardiff!

I'm pretty sure that girl sleeping on a slice of pizza was my 7th grade geometry teacher. Nice angle too!
That double yellow line on the curb was the giveaway, only in Europe do they need double lines to tell the cars not to drive up onto the sidewalk. Or maybe that tiny little lane next to the curb is for all the Cronut eating mice.
Tell Liz Masoomian or whoever sent it nice try but they missed April Fools day by about a week.

I was surprised to read that one of the new members of Community Board 3 is listed as the owner of Cafe Khufu at 61 East 3rd street. The owners of this place applied for a beer and wine license last year and as soon as they were approved, the place promptly closed and it has remained closed for nearly a year. There has been a "for rent" sign in the window for at least 6 months. The place has been gutted.
When this place was open, it drew a rough late night crowd. It was difficult to understand how they stayed in business when they had zero business during the day or on weeknights. Even on weekend nights the place was nearly empty, except for when promoters held events there. Frequently, on these promoter nights, late on weekends, there were fights in the street, and loud drunken yelling, all involving patrons of this place. Cafe Khufu did not have an alcohol license when it actually functioned and the people involved in these drunken brawls were clearly under the influence of something. This frequently happened as late as 5AM, way past the time that places with actual full liquor licenses are allowed to serve... The fact that when they finally got a beer and wine license, they promptly closed smells fishy, and does not bode well for the character and integrity of this new Community Board 3 member. Knowing she was involved with Good Old Lower east Side housing group makes me extremely suspicious of that group. It is also odd that she has maintained an active website for Cafe Khufu when it has not existed in nearly a year. It is also odd that nobody from Community Group 3 has bothered to visit the location to see that the place is an empty storefront. This Lisa Burris character needs to be watched carefully by our community, there is something not right about all of this.
GOLES did right by us. You might need to go to the Community Board and relate this information to them. It won't happen on its own. You should have just called the police and told them Occupy Wall Street was holding a fundraiser there, it would have been shut down in moments. gun shots fired is the code word now.
