Someone vandalized the entryway to Boukiés

Someone slashed the winterized entryway into the now-shuttered Boukiés on East Second Street at Second Avenue …

Boukiés closed last month. A "farm-to-table Mexican" restaurant is in the works for the space now.

People suck.

Americans are so brainwashed. Calling vandals 'anarchists' is grossly incorrect. It would be more accurate to call them Democrats or Republicans, because no anarchist has ever caused the damage these 2 parties have caused around the globe with their atomics and drones and GMOs and trained rape armies.

nygrump is earning his moniker one comment at a time. congratulations, nygrump, no need to post anymore. you have won the rights to it; the DMV is getting your licensed plate ready now.

(insert nygrump rant about the DMV here)

Language counts. Anarchism is a political/economic system of mutual aid. Most Americans have no idea anarchy was real in many places in the last century, until it was suppressed by Totalitarians on the right and left, probably mostly on the left, as noted by Orwell. Anarchism is not running around slashing plastic windows. Thats more likely the result of some alcohol intoxicated adults. As for the DMV, my experience in NY has been good. I have noticed NYU buses are now registered in NY. I did see coffeeman in astor place with its NJ plates. And also a cardboard sign i the window, as if being the coffeeman excuses you from parking regs (apparently it does). I really restrain myself in these postings, the world has been taken over by pod people, they stand around with their arms outstretched and necks hunched being told what to do and think by their pods.

You're talking to someone that did a presentation on Sacco and Vanzetti in 8th grade. I've done my share of reading about anarchism.

I guess I just try to assume the best of people and try not to generalize with statements like 'most Americans'.

In any case, not trying to start a Comments Clash. I love this blog - but sometimes the comments get to be too much (for me).

Happy Tuesday.

Cool, if we were face to face we'd be having an interesting conversation and would never have had this disunderstanding. I'm just so sick of anarchy being smeared - its an elite tactic, when the elites are the real causes of destruction over and over and over. Its not anarchists that keep leveling building after building in our neighborhood!

I can think of another word that starts with the letter "A" that describes a vandal.

The last time Anarchists had their chance to shine was in the 20s and 30s. They quickly aligned themselves with Stalin's regime (fake revisionist history notwithstanding). Prohibitionists similarly showed their true stripes during Prohibition.

Sacrificing Africans to starve to death for your non-scientifically backed political stance is not a good look. At least until that stance is supported by science. Otherwise you're just a less attractive Jenny McCarthy.

I can't decide which definition of anarchy I prefer, Lenin's or Trotsky's.

Lenin: Liberals with a bomb.

Trotsky: A raincoat full of holes - it only works when it is not needed.
