Former Gothic Cabinet Craft space for rent
Earlier this month, the longtime East Village location of Gothic Cabinet Craft packed up and left the corner of Third Avenue and East 13th Street, its home since 1969.
The two-level retail space — 1,500 square feet total on the main floor and basement — is now on the market.
There aren't many details on the listing, other than the annual rent is $350,000 per year... just a little more than $29k per month.

Loved the signage and dinasaur mural on this building. Gothic was my go to place for furniture whenever I moved, 6 times in 20 years. I always have tight budget for furniture so I got unfinished bookshelves, endtables, coffee tables, beds with drawers underneath
I still have three pieces from Gothic, and I learned a lot about refinishing and painting furniture from my purchases there, but I realize that on my last move I got new furniture from Wayfair because of lower price and free delivery.
You can see that building in the Taxi Driver movie.
With outrageous rent like that we will no doubt be gifted with another bar or bank.
Does anyone know anything about that mural?!
Unreal the rent price. No wonder there are so many empty storefronts.
I don't think the Cabinet Craft had $29k of inventory in its store, ever. Wanker landlord. What a difference two avenues makes as well. Avenue A wine was listed at $10k/month and not too much smaller.
The long-languishing former fro-yo space on the other corner remains available for approx. $22K/month.
I think you should interview a retail landlord about the tax benefits of holding out for so long for so much.
They own in the neighborhood yet contribute to its decline. Maddening.
