The 38th annual Ukrainian Festival is this weekend

The annual event is, as always, on Seventh Street between Second Avenue and Cooper Square.

And how is the weather looking for the festivities Friday through Sunday?

Here's the exclusive EVG forecast … Friday is not looking so swell at the moment…

Huh. That's an annual event that happens twice a year, I guess like Ukrainian Christmas.

DrGecko: What are you talking about? The festival happens once a year. Maybe you're thinking about other Ukrainian events (e.g. pysanky workshops at the Ukrainian Museum, around Easter each year).

I hope many people can come join us! As a Ukrainian immigrant in the changing East Village, I believe our community still has a place here and hope we get to celebrate with as many of our neighbors as possible this weekend.

Why, you're absolutely right. I could have sworn that there was one in spring and one in fall, but the fall one seems to have disappeared, leaving only a trace in my memory.

Time to make sure my medical proxies are in order.
