Report of a falling air conditioner on East 13th Street

And afterwards… no one was around to claim responsibility for it…

This occurred on East 13th Street between Avenue A and First Avenue … mid-block on the south side of the street…

The drunken NYU brats who lived below me pulled that stunt a couple years ago when some coed that was drinking there suddenly had to vomit, went for the window, opened it, and the geniuses had it set up such that the only thing keeping the air conditioner in was the closed window, so BAM! Fortunately was in the back so chance of it hitting someone was pretty low.
Well thankfully those NYU brats are gone now. Of course they have been replaced by an indistinguishable new bunch of NYU brats. A fresh air conditioner is in the window, no doubt not properly secured.
Thank goodness these rich fools get jobs running the world, they are way too stupid to do an honest days work.

@ moe:

I think a lot of the fault lies with building management / super. It's their responsibility too to ensure that ACs are properly mounted. Alas, many EV building owners seem content to get rent money and don't feel responsible for anything.

And not a thought here for the poor air conditioner who was driven to suicide. Shame on you all!

this happened in front of reciprocal skateboards a few years back. a 4th story tenant above had a guest from out of town staying w them, and she opened the window to smoke. bammm! sounded like someone drove a chevy off the roof. scariest thing i ever witnessed and will never sit or stand under one ever again.
