EV Grieve is an ad-free East Village blog where you'll find local news on the real estate, restaurants and residents of the East Village NYC. Launched in December 2007.
I saw The Boomtown Rats at the Palladium in February 1980...then I went to Disco Donuts and ate a bear claw and an apple fritter, because my metabolism still worked. Those were the days.
Have a story idea or tip about something happening in the East Village? Or maybe a photo? Or several photos? Or video! We'd love to hear about it. Or see it. Or something. Please go here to submit a tip.

great art; great story from gojira - I lulzed!:D
@Gojira: I used to live across the street from Disco Donut! (In 1981, in fact.)
I loved going there after midnight; I miss that place.
@Scuba Diva - yeah, me too - along with so many other unique places that made the EV such a great nabe.
I miss the Disco, too. Lived diagonally, northeast, across from it, next to an adult video story in '86.
@bowboy: Where the Duane Reade is now?
