First look at Pancake Paradise on Avenue C

Crews have transformed Esperanto on Avenue C and East Ninth Street into the Pancake Paradise for a film shoot (the tipster who sent along these shots didn't catch the name of the project) …

As the sign shows, Esperanto will be back in service Wednesday evening…

Updated: A readers says the shoot is for "How to Be Single" starring Dakota Johnson.

D--n! I thought it was a new pancake place for real.

I don't want to lose Esperanto, but wouldn't mind a pancake place somewhere else nearby....I remember there used to be a Royal Canadian Pancake House on 3rd Ave above 14th St. that was fun to go to, does anyone else remember that?

Oh, yeah — where the pancakes were like the size of manhole covers????? I remember the first time I went… thinking it would be too much, so I got an omelette instead. It was about the same size! (Or so it seemed.)

Think I've saw Pancake Paradise in "Sleepless in Seattle" and "the Philadelphia Story." It must be a movie restaurant chain.

Yes, the RC Pancake House, they were the size of Conestoga wagon wheels. And good!

Anyplace that calls itself "Pancake Paradise" had better offer vegan and gluten-free options.

I miss the pancakes at Old Devil Moon on 12th street. Loaded with berries. Actually come to think about it I miss almost everything at Old Devil Moon.

Right on to vegan and gluten free pancakes.

Wasn't the RC Pancake House where breakfast for two, just a stack of pancakes and an omelet, was about $45? And that was in the '90s!

If you're going to have a gluten-free pancake then why bother?
