Reader requests: Looking for an East Village caterer

An EVG reader asked if we had any recommendations for an East Village-based caterer to provide appetizers-hors d'oeuvres for an event... Well, we have no idea. Any readers with a recommendation?

The event is for 50-75 people later this fall... "Normal finger food. Party food kind of stuff," said the reader. So, nothing artisanal-farm-to-tablish featuring bone marrow stuffed with crushed, dehydrated black beans drizzled with sweet and tangy passionfruit sauce.

Uh, anyway. Any catering help?

or Cafe Paradis (on 4th Ave/E. 12th Street.)

Maybe a little something from each suggested on this list!

We've done things like this before at TSB. Mini bagels , platters of cold cuts, cream cheese samplers and lox. Obviously works better in the AM though. We have worked with Schimmel before as well.

Funny, speaking about catering, I remember reading that even at the so called blue blood, high end affairs, the most popular item was pigs in a blanket.

Five Spice NYC is an amazing catering place that I have used before for a few events. They do really eclectic food and the presentation is beautiful. Here is the information: http://www.fivespicenyc.com/ oh and the girls who run it are super cute too.

If you've already settled on a provider for your food, but need someone highly experienced to advise, set-up, present, maintain, and clean up - that'd be me. Decades long EV resident, and decades of experience working for local and other catering companies, I am available to work your events of any size & description, anytime year round. and I keep a small staff of excellent cater/waiters & bartenders. Also, I can supply the food from reliable established kitchens.
