We haven't heard from Kita since May. How has Kita's summer been?
Kita's owner provided an update.
She's spent most of her summer in Tompkins Square Park chasing pigeons, avoiding aggressive terrier mix types (she's learned the hard way) and generally becoming part of the local cafe society. The photos here are of her favorite local haunts. (She'd rather not say precisely which establishments she frequents as she doesn't want the health department cracking down on her favorite places simply for having the temerity to serve a dog.)
She can report that she's not terribly fond of Mexican food (too spicy!) and loves, loves, loves, sautéed mushrooms. She's also exploring a run for a Community Board seat but isn't really prepared to talk about that just yet.
On the next episode: While searching for apartments, Kita learns that "two bedrooms" often just means two rooms.

The further adventures of Kita the Wonder Dog of East 10th Street
Thats funny, my old dog would eat everything, except mushrooms, not even mushroom pizza, and she loved pizza. I thought it was some smart evolutionary thing, since in the wild, many mushrooms are poisonous. I guess Kita just has a more sophisticated palate.
I love this and look forward to further updates about Kita the mushroom eating wonder dog!
I am in love with Kita. She is so expressive! Such a pretty girl!
I notice a lime in her glass. Wonder what Kita's drink of choice is? Should should start her own EV restaurant blog... Kita Grieve! Sorry EVG... Keater?
Thank you EV Grieve for writing articles that matter very much to me, your dear reader. I would really love to smell her behind. - Scout

Ha. Well! I suppose there is EV Kita. Will talk to the marketing and promotions team. And legal counsel...
Kita, I know where you are sitting in that first photo. Who's a privileged dog?
the dogs of the neighborhood dont like what went down with that cop shooting that dog. i hear theres been a lot of talk on the street.
Privileged? Kita appears to have a Blackberry! Really? Her owner should be cited for abuse. This cutie deserves an iPhone! Only the best you Kita!
Really tourist - how about talking about the drug addict that put that dog in that position to be killed? Of course lets not put any blame on him, he has every right to be a junkie and have an animal he doesn't take care of properly.
Kita needs her own blog! Please!
I wonder if Kita has any catering suggestions for that EVG reader who's looking for ideas. It does seems Kita gets around quite a bit so she might have some great recommendations.
While Kita and I definitely have different tastes, I am certain that she is a well-informed critic. Her keen mind is definitely what would be needed on the Community Board, and I would certainly do GOTV for my favorite furry friend!
Kita - tell them when they are searching for apartments, they might consider a napping room for you. Just saying...
She is THE gem of the village! Perhaps NYC's newest mascot? I'd vote for her ;)
What a cutie!! Can't wait to hear about her continuing adventures!!
How sweet!! I hope to see her out shaking paws to get out the vote!
