The East Village outpost of the Jackson Heights-based Korean fried chicken restaurant opened this past weekend at 60 Third Ave. near East 11th Street.
Apiary, the nearly 6-year-old restaurant, closed here in the spring for a revamp. After a splashy, well-publicized makeover, the new place, Après, closed after just three weeks.

I said earlier that I met the manager or owner of in the east village. Very impolite and obnoxious. She Wouldn't shake my hand, wouldn't introduce herself. She asked hastily, "what do you want?". All I wanted was to introduce myself and welcome them to the neighborhood.
Its unfortunate because the place looks nice and the menu is interesting. But, if the food is not getting a 27 on zagat, I won't give this place a shot because the management sucks.
The manager sounds like a New Yorker to me, as they say, be suspicious of strangers bearing gifts. I'm glad she didn't shake your hand, that's how diseases spread, and she's in the restaurant business after all. I'll stop by and thank her later, I don't want your germs on my food.
I prefer KFC.
Well, you sound like a schmuck to me. Cynicism is also a disease and it is spread by people with your type of attitude.
Quite frankly, only people from out of town think you need to be an obnoxious ass to be or feel like a New Yorker when nothing is further from the truth.
Enjoy your chicken. I guess the taste is all that's important to you not needing to keep 'abreast' of who is in the back making it.
