In case you missed Stomp Day NYC this past Wednesday ... Stomp is throwing "a very special celebratory performance" tonight in honor of its 500th 25th anniversary at the Orpheum on Second Avenue between Seventh Street and St. Mark's Place... the event will be on Facebook Live at 6:50 this evening...
Talented performers making a racket with trashcans and household objects. Real percussion, drums and music instruments are always going to sound better though.
Yeah, it's a touristy show, but at the same time is one of the few neighborhood landmarks that was here when I moved here 23 years ago. So seeing the marquee is a refreshing throwback.

Bored of this. I wish it would move to the suburbs....closer to it’s audience.
Then we could have something new.
I have lived in the east village for ten years... never had an urge to see the show...
This and Blue Man Group. Strictly for tourists now.

Did someone just say that real drums would sound better than garbage cans? Profound.

Used to see groundbreaking shows by great talents such as John Leguizamo and Sandra Bernhard there.
