Is it just me, or now that the neighborhood is getting "cleaned up," isn't it dirtier than it has been in the last 20 years?

Every single corner. Trash overflowing. The neighborhood is not designed for this amount of tourism.

cleaned up means higher rents to keep out the poor so the slobs and yunis can come here to play (get drunk) and feel safe.
and to make sure there are stores that cater to their needs (bars).
it does not mean cleaned up for those of us that live here.
that's who they want to clean up.

Classless pigs. The neighborhood is especially douchey today. I'm guessing there's a football game on?

It's getting worse and worse- a little off topic but I have to vent by irritation- Today, passing by Stillwater on 4th Street there were lots of bros screaming and wooing, blocking the sidewalk so I had to go into the street to pass them, but the worst was 2 frat bros were actually throwing around a football in the middle of 4th Street with zero regard for people or cars that were trying to pass. You could tell they that is was awesome to be like tossing the football around in NYC duuude! Who cares if we hit cars or people or block traffic- they're lame anyway broh!

It would seem that Anon 6:47 didn't grow up in Brooklyn.

@P.P.
Yeah.... where you hit a car with your football, and then get shot.

Haha, no I was more referring to the stories I grew up on from my mother and uncle about playing in the streets (particularly baseball/stickball) in their Brooklyn neighborhood. Now the police would have you sent down to juvie by the second batter.

Stickball in the streets for sure. It there weren't nearly as many cars and the kids weren't drunk.
