Oct. 18

Carol from East 5th Street found what appears to be a Christmas/holiday tree... freshly plucked from the Earth (there's still some green on it)...on Fifth Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue...

Why discard this today? Perhaps the balmy temperatures made it ideal for spring/summer cleaning...

Once you harvest the ornaments off a Christmas tree, the tree usually dies. This being the harvest season, that tree and its condition seem perfectly apropos.

This has to be a record, right?

Making room for the 2016 tree?

6 more weeks and they could have spray-painted it green, set it back up and used it again until next year.

where is the mandatory date time stamp? Not sure if it's legit

This is a record, Erin... if the rules committee allows it...

DQ!
no time stamp, and roots, its not a christmas tree if there are roots, this tree could have been green, in the ground in august. This is a travesty.

I have a mini one in my house still. We called it the miracle tree because it lasted through the summer. Will put it outside my apt this week. Keep an eye on 5th st btwn 2nd and Bowery.
