Saltwater now serving on 12th Street

Saltwater is now open at 345 E. 12th St. between First Avenue and Second Avenue. The Australian-style cafe had its grand opening yesterday.

The venture is via Lee and Sid, a couple who grew up in Sydney. Per the Saltwater website: "They missed the Australian-styled coffee reflective of the lifestyle back home; where it is a way of life and is uniquely intertwined with leisure rather than a fuel for work."

Saltwater's hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

No. 345 previously served as a to-go spot for S'Mac.

i wish them luck and agree coffee's association with work is wack. my only unsolicited business advice is get some hot and cold tea in there and a bench out front! cheers... it coulda been a vape shop.

Beautiful interior. Its very modern and clean. I do think the other commenter is right. In order to achieve success, the serving of tea, and a bench outside would be better. Good luck to them.

I went there today. Great staff and coffee!
I didn't try the tea but they definitely have it on menu and other drinks such as turmeric latte and matcha latte.

Went to Saltwater today. Friendly owner. Nice turmeric latte with oat milk. Yes they have taffy. Small and very noisy though, so I don't see myself sitting inside.

I went in on the weekend. The coffee was surprisingly good. I can see myself walking an extra block to go here just to avoid the starbucks on 13th.
