Workers began erecting the sidewalk shed along the doomed section of East 14th Street between Avenue A and Avenue B yesterday. Demolition of these one-level empty storefronts should commence soon enough.
As previously reported, eight parcels consisting of 222 Avenue A and 504 - 530 E. 14th St. (excluding No. 520) were leased for a retail-resident complex that might look like this ...

Workers still need to finished putting up the sidewalk bridge to the east...
To date, we haven't spotted any plans on file with the city for the new buildings.
Meanwhile, it's really last call for that Blarney Cove sign...

Yeah, farewell to this little piece of the East Village that used to be; I echo Anon. 7:48 and say I will miss you, too. Now we're losing churches and schools and city blocks instead of just individual buildings, and all for the benefit of the most useless generation of losers I have ever had the misfortune to have to interact with. The nightmare continues.

I lived on that block all thru the 90's, never in my wildest dreams did I see this coming!! Still miss "Pete's a Place"! Don't know how many brain cells I slaughtered at the "Cove"!!! What the fuck happened?? It's like waking up from a bad hangover only to find oneself in a nightmare!!!

Looks great. Those one story commercials were underutilized. This design works nicely with the adjacent pre war.
