The building is in an R8B zone with a residential FAR of 4.0 which would allow for a total buildable square footage of approximately 9,312 SF. The existing building is approximately 3,860 SF with an additional 5,451 SF of available air-rights. Therefore, the buyer could keep the existing structure and add floor area. Alternatively, the buyer could demolish the existing and structure and build a new ground-up development.
Whatever the option, this address will likely get much taller in the future.
Asking price: $4.25 million.

wow... I live across down the block from that building. Someone will snatch it up in a heartbeat.
Sickening. I can't imagine how anyone would tear down a beautiful house like this. I got a smarmy and predatory Massey Knakal phone call last week, angling for business. Ugh.
It's one of my favorite buildings in the neighborhood, but...if I had that kind of money, hmmmm...not.
Where is the LANDMARKING in the East Village. OR is that just for the richest district in the country West Village? District Preservation NOW
