The Lazy Llama Coffee Bar is the name of the Bluebird replacement on East 1st Street

We first noted back on Tuesday that the Bluebird Coffee Shop has closed on East First Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue.

A sign on the door thanked customers and noted that new owners were taking over the space.

There's now a second sign on the door...

Dear customers,

We are working very hard to open shop after Christmas. We will be serving Stumptown Coffee... see you soon

And the name of the new venture is The Lazy Llama Coffee Bar...

I will miss the coffee at Bluebird but i agree with comments from the previous post, most of the staff at Bluebird was rude to the point of hostile... all the beard cultivating and appropriating a snide attitude must have been so all consuming it left no time to service customers let alone a much needed nap!

Llamas are very smelly animals, and they spit.

I've no love for Stumptown since selling out to Peet's.

Bluebird had Counter Culture coffee which I prefer ... there were some cute coffee girls and a nice guy from Australasia who I believe moved to SF some time back, he and another younger guy had occasional good tunes on the iPod, but yes - some of those folks were downright rude, especially the Asian girl. However, the coffee and food were usually a cut above, the bacon and egg biscuit with Sriracha comes to mind and so does the almond cake ... I think Hippie Lou and his friends are going to miss it, but maybe they'll go to the Llama place?
