Your chance to attend a virtual Rat Academy

Via the EVG inbox... Council Member Carlina Rivera's office and Community Board 3 are sponsoring a free Rat Academy tomorrow from 10 a.m. to noon.

The virtual session will provide training for building supers and staff, residents, community gardeners, managing companies, etc.

I'm a big advocate of these rat academies. I've attended the in-person and virtual sessions and they're very helpful. It's a great opportunity to ask questions of the DOH and get help with any rat-related problems. It's free and open to everyone, and they emphasize rat prevention rather than resorting to poison, which is ultimately ineffective and does more harm than good.

Would have been nice to have been given more than a day's notice on this; maybe they can record it for re-broadcast or on-demand?

The Rat Academies are usually offered monthly. You can find more info here:

Very informative but until the 9th Precinct starts putting their garbage in containers with lids we will have a major rat problem on the block.
