Ad changer on the loose!

In recent days someone has taken a Sharpie (or whatever) to various ads around the neighborhood… providing some social commentary…

… and pop-cultural observations…

Graffiti is stupid, it expresses nothing except narcissism and inanity. All style, no substance--that is the whole point of it right. This on the other hand is heartwarming. Vandalism is not ideal but in a karmic sense this is fair play. That kind of outdoor advertising is aggressive and shoved in our face. We are all desensitized to how offensive most of it is. It is such a one-sided conversation. I always wondered why we don't see more of this kind of commentary. I guess most of us don't want to run afoul of the law. But I support it, it speaks for me.

There are a bunch on 3rd Ave between 10th-13th. They brightened my day :)

Two comments:

1) I agree with anon 1:04pm. Something about it I like and I wonder why there isn't more of it.

2) Didn't somebody nicknamed "Bubble Boy" (or something like that) get busted for putting sticker "bubbles" with writing on them on quite a few of the GEMUSA bus stops and newsstands?
