A reader told us that they arrived today on the west side of the Avenue … check back tomorrow for our comprehensive review…

Meanwhile, remember not to litter…

A vast improvement upon the still all-too-common "cage" (not John, although the minimalism of the design might invite comparison) style trash cans, which look horrid, leak and overflow trash on the sidewalk.

Let's have these throughout the city!

But are they rat proof?

Are they "drunk bro"-proof?

Maybe they're supposed to make it harder for people to throw residential trash bags in... It's a major problem in the neighborhood, especially in places where trash has to be thrown out behind buildings. People are so unbelievably lazy.

I hope the guy that sued Manatoba does't sue the city because these are not accessible.

They are supposed to stop people from throwing household trash in them. They are designed to look better. They are supposed to make it harder for homeless recyclers to rip open bags looking for cans. We'll see if it works.

I thought these where those horrid Android logos with Google glass on the sides.

It looks like it would help keep trash from blowing back out, which can be a problem with light plastic crap on windy days. These should definitely be at beaches and near waterways.
