We were sorry to hear about Lisa Colagrossi, a WABC-TV reporter. She suffered a brain hemorrhage while returning from covering a story Thursday morning, according to the station. Colagrossi, a mother of two, was 49.
She was in touch with us several times through the years about East Village-related stories. She was always friendly and professional, and showed a genuine interest in stories in this neighborhood.
Her colleagues remember her here.

Tragic reminder that life is short, we shouldn't waste too much of it always hating on everything changing in our neighborhood. Enjoy today.
I remember her. Didn't she cover Ray's problems and successes?? RIP. Condolences to her family.

Grieve, I am really touched that you mentioned the loss of this nice lady. I met her once, and she was totally down-to-earth and very friendly. I echo both Anon. 11:18 and Melanie, carpe diem and prayers for her family. As your co-worker Rob Nelson said this morning, Ms. Colagrassi, "Sleep well".
RIP. She was a class act.
So sorry for her family. What a huge loss. May her memory be a blessing.
And everyone, call your mom or hug your kids. Loss can happen so fast.
I agree with one of the last commenters. Life is short. Try not to marinate in anger or regret or hate. Live your life to the best, take chances, give and receive love and joy, and explore the world. Condolences to her family. What an incredible loss for so many. And at 49? Too young :(
So tragic. She was such a beloved, trusted journalist. I feel terrible for her sons, who will need and miss her the most. Always be grateful for what and who you have in your life. It can go at any moment. RIP sweetheart....
