Hey, the 14th Street IHOP is back in pancake biz

Just closing the IHOP-renovation loop ... the restaurant is back open (actually as of Monday afternoon, per an employee) here on 14th Street near Second Avenue (aka, IHOP Way).

The five-year-old IHOP closed for a makeover on Sept. 18.

Having never been inside the pre-makeover IHOP, I can't tell you how the place is any different. Anyone?

Boycott IHOP and support Odessa the only diner in the East Village left and Cozy Soup 'N' Burger the only diner near the East Village left. Both serve better pancakes than IHOP.

Don't forget the 24 hour Lower East Side Coffee Shop at 14th Street and Avenue A; the people are very nice, the food is quite decent, but I worry about that place because it often has no one in it...

That joint too Gojira :)

Any other EV/just outside the EV non-IHOP places which serve pancakes besides the three we listed? Anyone?

Hey Gojira, they do a pretty brisk take away and delivery business! I order from them at least 3 times a month!! Killer hot open face sandwiches!!!

Little Poland and B&H on 2nd Avenue and Neptune Diner on 1st Avenue

Good to know, Paddy, thank you - I order from them as well, and if this winter is as brutal as is being foretold I'll be seeing a lot of their delivery guys! (And thanks for the tip re the open-faced sandwich, haven't had that one but will try it soon.)
