Rooftop ruckus

This was this scene yesterday atop a building on East 10th Street… One of the hawks (Christo? Goggla? Help!)

The hawk's presence didn't go over so well with the other birds on this perch.

The birds continued to make a ruckus…

… and were eventually successful in driving away the unwanted squatter…

Well, lucky for him that he was driven away. Stayed there much longer he could have been served up as roast squab (i.e., microwaved hawk) on a platter.

the small bird landing on the hawk's head is hilarous

That's a fledgling! You can tell by its peach-colored chest and polka-dotted leg feathers.

Interesting. I saw something similar last week. One of the hawks perched itself on a roof and two bluejays chased it away. I didn't see any baby chicks but it looked like the bluejays were protecting their space.

I think Anon 3:54 is right - looks like a fledgling with two mockingbirds.
