Looking at Futura's 'Concrete Jungle' on the Houston/Bowery Mural Wall

FUTURA (aka Lenny McGurr) finished up work yesterday at the Houston/Bowery Mural Wall … the shadows of the early evening kept us from getting a decent shot… Here are some other shots of "Concrete Jungle" via Instagram…

Ummm...yeah, no, not really feeling it. Looks like a wall, and God knows there's enough of them around. Sorry.

It'd be a cool wall if anyone/everyone did something on it.

Was very much looking forward to a Futura wall on Houston.. but this is drab, dull, boring, and looks unfinished.. Some color would've been nice.. oh well

One of, if not the best Bowery Murals so far, certainly the most considered and contextual.
Very subtle, the sunlight filtering through the greys and black of the jungle.
It offers something different every time you look at both by day and night and makes a slightly jarring and wistful reference to the puny urban garden on the other side of the street. Graffiti as powerful, sophisticated social art, from a master at work! I'll be very sad when its gone.
