Very ironic - in a previous comment, I wondered where the buses that normally parked there would go. I have the answer - they are parked on the other side of 4th Ave *completely blocking the bike lane*

Sigh - if only the different agencies in this city would talk to each other

Hey Grieve, when have you scheduled your test drive for? We need to know how these bikes handle.

Yes. I'm riding one now! People keep running up to me with their Citi ATM cards, thinking that I'm a moving Citi ATM... "No — back you! I don't take deposits! No receipts!"

Great....MORE biker tourists clogging bike lanes and streets, getting in the way of residents who bike here. MORE cops writing tickets for MORE city revenue. For our "safety" of course!!

& maybe they're mistaking you for an ATM because your crack is exposed?

@Grieve
I don't even want to know where they're sticking their cards

@Chris
Yeah, it sucks, but I prefer it to having those AHs walking on the sidewalks with their noses stuck to a touchscreen.

Can't wait for a taxi to plow into them.

Hey Chris Flash - in case you didn't know, the pricing of Citibike is specifically designed to cater to New Yorkers as transportation, not leisure rides for tourists. An annual membership (over 6,000 have already been purchased) is $95. As a cyclist myself, I bought a membership for after-work crosstown rides, pre-drink rides so I can take the subway home, on days with rain in the morning but sun in the afternoon - the uses are endless.

Ugh, I sound like an ad.

But anyway, my point being - this isn't really for tourists.
