After 28 years of selling hand-made, vintage-style clothes in the East Village, the D.L. Cerney boutique closed up shop on East Seventh Street at the end of 2012.
Co-owner Linda St. John told Jeremiah Moss that she wanted to get out of NYC for awhile and focus on her art and writing.
St. John has returned to the East Village — temporarily anyway. She will be displaying her wares at Umbrella Arts, 317 E. Ninth St. between First Avenue and Second Avenue through Aug. 30…

Such good news. I was a devoted customer for many years. Not only where the clothes great, but one felt welcome in their shop. Looking forward to seeing them again.
Such a delight to have them back! Their wares are (understandably) a bit less extensive than they were on E. 7th, but they've got some great things, both women's and men's. Go, buy, encourage them to do this again!
Bought some beautiful mens clothes from Duane and Linda in 2000. Returning to New York in July 2016. Distraught that their shop has gone.
