Report: New owner for 92-94 2nd Ave.

The 6-story building at 92-94 Second Ave. between Fifth Street and Sixth Street has been sold

The Real Deal reported that the Sabet Group bought the 22-unit rental building from investment firm Emmes Group of Companies for $19 million.

In total, there are 20 apartments, including five rent-stabilized units, and two retail spaces — the restaurant Local 92 and the empty space that housed the bar Kabin until March 2015.

The Sabet Group has made headlines for alleged tenant harassment in the past.

I've heard rumors that 50 2nd Ave is being sold along with Nativity Church...any whispers?

I miss the days when the entities that owned buildings had last names like "Kamansky", or "Piakowska", or "Casella", or "Schmidt", instead of "Group" or "LLC".

Once outsiders buy into a neighborhood, they do it for profit and couldn't care less about the tenants or the neighborhood. But in the EV, it started a long time ago. It's just getting more obvious and worse. It points out how residents get so little help from the law and elected officials who are paid to work for their constituents. We need help. Where is that help coming from?

Is there any neighborhood that gets "help" like that?
