Cupbearer to the hawks

One of the juvenile red-tailed hawks early this evening atop Temperance Fountain in Tompkins Square Park...

Thanks to Goggla for the photo!

Fabulous shot!

It's like the statue is looking in her mirror so she can see the RTHawk sitting on her head without disturbing the hawk. :-)

I was out in the park yesterday afternoon and was delighted to see several of the hawks..at least one parent and 2 of the juvies. One young hawk hung out on a low tree branch and relaxed while observing the human comings and goings with interest. Very chill. Parents nearby as well as siblings. You could hear periodic contact calls. We are so lucky to be able to share Tompkins with these lovely, graceful creatures!

This needs to be a new tarot card image. Kudos, Goggla, for another avian masterpiece.

Temperance means abstinence from alcohol. How ironic in TSP.
