Former St. Mark's Place Pinkberry storefront for rent
The former FroYo hotspot abruptly closed at 24 St. Mark's Place a few weeks back.
The for lease sign via Eastern Consolidated arrived yesterday. The listing isn't online just yet, so we're not sure how the brokers are pitching the property here between Second Avenue and Third Avenue.
What do you think might possibly be next? Tattoo/piercing shop? Bong store? FroYo? .49-cent pizza? A combination of all those things?

A John Varvatos boutique shop, but they'll keep the Pinkberry motif as a tribute
I think St Marks going forward will be chain stores and restaurants only. Nobody but out of towners and corporations think this block is still cool. Since I don't know what suburbanites eat and shop for these days it is impossible for me to predict the next tenant.
OMG! This was my favorite place in NYC. Where will I ever be able to get my favorite fro-yo? They had the creamiest, freshest flavors. NOT!!!!!!!
I suppose we need another Duane Reade, so I think that is what will end up there.
The only thing that can remain in the same location on St. Marks Place for more than a week are vape stores and Crusties.
It better be a Hot Topic. I need another Ramones shirt.
Flip Flop Shop?
A season store which sell costumes to kidults such as St Pat's day green derbies, Santa and slutty Mrs Santa for Santa Con, cute cat ears for non slutty Halloween women and slutty nurse, maid, waitress, or other female versions of the male Halloween costume, etc...
Stinkberry is being replaced with a new restaurant called NY You. The intimate 6ft x 6ft space will realize an NYU dorm room in which guests - 2 max - are served a handcrafted, Duane Reade-to-table meal. The eclectic menu will include Nice brand chicken soup, breadcrumbs, cookies and toilet paper. Your host, Josh from Canton, will serve his American inspired creations while boring you with his tales of student debt and the unreliable NYU WiFi.
While we're talking froyo, someone should check out Funkiberry on 3rd Ave. When I passed it the other day, it looked distinctly deFunk-t.
Would be hilarious if a B of A, Citibank or TD Bank were to squeeze into that little spot.
I'm sure the Crusties will enjoy having a spot to shoot up, drink, harass passersby, and abuse their dogs/cats. Another space that will sit vacant as the rent is outrageous. When will the city actually do something about all the vacant commercial spaces? Do they even care?
Once Summer gets here, people will be missing our local Pinkberry.
Local Pinkberry. You're funny.
I don't get the whole Pinkberry phenom. The ingredients suck, so it can't be for "health" reasons.
Here are the ingredients, from their website, for the pomegranate yogurt: Nonfat milk, sugar, nonfat yogurt (pasteurized nonfat milk, live and active cultures), pomegranate juice concentrate, nonfat yogurt powder (nonfat milk, culture), fructose, dextrose, natural flavors, citric acid, guar gum, maltodextrin, mono- and diglycerides, rice starch.
You're probably better off eating Breyers ice cream.
