I thought the word bespoke retired last year...

Allow me to make mention of the tenant that preceeded the fortune teller, Marcus the great Brazilian jeweler who turned that little space into his home, his jewelry factory, and a wild drunken gathering place both for neighbors and anyone else that happened to be walking by, any time of day or night. Without disturbing the neighbors, by the way; its not that hard if you are not a moron.
He is back somwhere in the jungles of Brazil now, still owes me a few bucks but really, over the years I must have drank at least $500 worth of the Chevas that was always getting poured for everyone by the great Marcus.

How original......I though that line retired years ago.

I don't know who these guys are.

Back when I got married, I went to St Laurie Ltd on W 32nd St and bought a handmade off the rack shawl collar tux that was actually way cheaper than every dept store I went to. (I still wear it and it still looks brand new). They've been there for over 100 years. And I still have the patent leather oxfords that go with it from the now departed Army-Navy store on Christopher St.

"Bespoke"?!? What the fuck, is Savile Row coming to the East Village now? If you need "bespoke" clothes you are a pathetic simp and you need to go away. Bring back Cheap Jack's!

"Bespoke" is the new "artisanal" except that it isn't that new.

Hold on, I'm confused. I thought we were against chains and supportive of small, independently-owned, craft businesses like butchers, fishmongers, booksellers, bakers, and tailors? Did I get it wrong? Are we rooting for H&M to move onto Ave A?

Yeah really. How does wanting custom made clothing make someone a "pathetic simp"? We should all be so lucky, and tailoring is a great skill and an increasingly lost art. Go to the site (the link is right there for you); the clothes and accessories are gorgeous.

This isn't fancy biscuiteering by a bunch of goofballs. This is a serious craft. Some of you people will never be happy unless we're all wearing old fatigues eating onion rings in dive bars.

PS, if you go to their press page you'll see an article featuring Mike Cole of Mikey Likes It ice cream wearing their clothes. That's a mighty fine endorsement in my book.

Ha ha, I don't know what the fuck "bespoke" even means. So that's one less thing to piss me off I guess. In 2015 it's hard to be genuinely ignorant of anything, so you gotta enjoy these precious moments. So ha ha.

"Bespoke" simply means custom made, traditionally applied to men's clothing (particularly suits) that is tailor made for an individual. It's correctly used in regard to this particular business. Of course, it's fucking ridiculous when people start talking about bespoke muffins or bespoke cocktail weenies, but that's no reason for anyone to get in a snit when the word is actually used appropriately by people who make custom clothing.
