Say hello

As Goggla reported last Tuesday, red-tailed hawks Amelia and Christo have two chicks in the nest this spring in Tompkins Square Park.

Steven spotted one of the chicks alert and peering out from the nest this afternoon... perhaps getting familiar with his/her future hunting grounds...

Can anybody tell me where in the park this tree is located? Thanks.

Enter the park at Ave. B and E8 Street, a few steps in, past the benches, the nest is straight up in the Ginkgo tree on the left. Easier to see from across Ave. B by the mailbox.

Whatever happened to the original Mama Hawk (Dora) - is she still recuperating ?

Has anyone seen Opie - the Opposum ?

The baby hawks are super cute !

And where's the night heron???

@Greg Masters, thank you. I've wandered around the B side of the park more than once, looking up and hoping to catch a glimpse, but never saw a damn thing. Now at least I know where to go. Much appreciated!
