Benchmark Real Estate Group paid $57 million for the building late last year.
The building on East 11th Street and Third Avenue now includes a gym, yoga studio, rooftop terrace and lobby with espresso machines. Apparently people have been indulging — Streeteasy shows five active listings, with an average price of $4,887.

Oh remodeled building what big windows you have? The better to see NYU my dear.
This "remodel" is a bad visual joke.
Truth-in-advertising would require them to say: "Rent here & spend a fortune each month to live across the street from an NYU dorm! It's totally NOT worth the money, but we think you're too stupid to know that. In fact, our ENTIRE business model depends on lots of young people (with mommy & daddy as guarantors) cheerfully paying too much into our bank account each month. We'd pity you fools, but we're too busy raking in your money."
SO much better! Now it looks like a '90s era dorm... from Boston!
One would think with all of the residential units being market-rate now, that the rent of the commercial spaces would come down some.
