EV Grieve is an ad-free East Village blog where you'll find local news on the real estate, restaurants and residents of the East Village NYC. Launched in December 2007.
When I was 4-5 years old, my family had two pigs. As far as I was concerned, they were my friends. One day they disappeared & we had a freezer full of pork products. No one explained it to me - & I didn't figure out what happened til years later. Both of my 'friends' were skinnier than the creature in this video.
See how he nudged his pet towards the ladies sitting on the bench. This must be the new Tinder. Look at meeee ladies, look at meeee, what do you like huh, what do you like? Henceforth, the one in gingham shirt is the pig.
You have to be a little off center to have a pig for a pet in NYC. Wonder why the "no livestock" law in NYC isn't applied to pigs as pets. Can't imagine what this guy's house/apartment must look like....pig sty? pig pen? Does he pig out at night? Before or after he and his little piggie go to market? Does everyone look when the pig boards the plane with him in a carrier....do pigs fly? Favorite essay, Dissertation of Roast Pig by Charles Lamb... http://www.angelfire.com/nv/mf/elia1/pig.htm
Have a story idea or tip about something happening in the East Village? Or maybe a photo? Or several photos? Or video! We'd love to hear about it. Or see it. Or something. Please go here to submit a tip.

By the way
Here, you'll find things that you may or may not be interested in about the East Village and other parts of New York City. Appreciating what's here while it's still here. Remembering what's no longer here. Wishing some things weren't here that are here.

People dying does not give you license to paint your feelings on someone else's property.

Bon Appetit!
Oh look more let's bring my college hick town shit to the East Village/NYC.
Where does that sandals wearing bro keep that pig?
Will Parks and Rec and the City allocate millions for pig runs now?
Is that Ben Shaoul?
(OK, OK, I know, that was rude, a terrible comparison, and I apologize - to the pig.)
