Flagpole Day in Tompkins Square Park

The flagpole in Tompkins Square Park was in need of refinishing and repainting ...

A crew was out today, as these photos via EVG Flagpole Correspondent Steven show... here's the final product...

Looking sharp for the upcoming summer season (Flag Day, July 4) ... and maybe a corporate sponsor? There's plenty of room for a message.

Ha ha, but the way the city is renting out public spaces to the highest bidder and forcing corporate advertisements down our throats a flag pole is a potential income generator. I had the DOT remove a banner which they stealthy mounted on a lamp post outside of our community garden on (El Sol Brilliante Jr) on 12th Street (A&B).

No way should we tolerate advertisements on our residential blocks and I encourage anyone which spots one on their block to take action to have it removed, if you don't it will only encourage them to add more until our blocks resemble Times Square.

I am curious how much advertisers are paying to plaster their mediocre and lousy product everywhere. I believe it ain't much. And when I see plazas selling one thing and the same product plastered everywhere at one stop (the abominable and disgusting postmates comes immediately to mind) I wonder if they get a discount.

Since he won't be impeached, thanks to his political doppleganger Trump, Primary de Faustio.
