Several readers have noted this new coming soon signage for #notourpresident on an empty storefront (No. 64) on Second Avenue between Fourth Street and Third Street.
If HRC had won the election and the Trumpistas paraded on about her not being their president what would the liberal / leftist voices be saying to them? So it is over, HRC won the popular vote but not the Electoral College vote--case closed. Gird your loins for 4 years of pressuring public officials to do their job and bring to light the flaws of Trump and his appointed officials. Gird your loins for demonstrations. Silly little store fronts may gratify immediate frustration, but there is a long fight ahead.
All that you say is true - but the "silly little store front". At least until we know what will be there, it's a constant reminder to keep fighting. And if it's in a Kushner building, more power to it. The awning is bold enough to not be a ignored whether one is walking by or driving down 2nd Ave. Far more affective than posters or Tweets.
They're not going to take a bath anywhere near in comparison to what the poor schmucks who voted for Trump are going to take. That's the one (gleeful) positive that is going to come out of this, otherwise, national nightmare. You bought it / you own it.
Yes I know Trump won the election (fair and square) and more than half those that voted pick Clinton.... Whatever this turns out to be: a themed restaurant for liberals, ground zero for the anti-Trump movement it is still better than if the KKK decided to set up shop there.
The ELECTORAL COLLEGE decides who the next POTUS is on December 19th, 2016.
Trump has 326 electoral votes to Clinton's 232. If just 38 of the 46 electors from just the three states Trump barely won by just over 100K people combined (PA, MI, WI) vote Clinton or 38 electors from any combination of Trump states (it could even be as little just Texas which has exactly 38 electors or PA and OH which have 38 combined) vote Clinton, Clinton is the next POTUS. Unlikely but you never know. Trump is doing some really crazy sh it considering Sessions and Flynn, and is already mixing business with his forthcoming office.
I would LOVE what I call a "Reverse 2000" where the Democrat wins the election with the popular vote in 2016 vs. the Democrat losing the election with the popular vote in 2000. Bush Jr. won over Gore with the electoral college, Clinton should win over Trump with the popular vote. Both decisions cancel each other out (both parties win.)
I think a strong case could be made for the PA, MI, and WI electors to vote Clinton thus make her the next POTUS because Trunp won PA by only about 70K votes, MI by about 12K, WI by just under 18K last check - barely a mandate.

Let me guess: This is by the same people who opened the "America" themed restaurant on 6th Street for 3 weeks...
Not sure what they are selling... but I will most likely buy it...

Probably paying $15k a month to peddle stupidity. They'll take a bath and be closed in a couple of months.
People have a right to share their feelings. What's the big deal?

It's amazing how many would love to watch their country burn just to say I told you so.

Say what? Is this a serious analogy? No wonder this is a bubble.
Not so fast.

Ya know what I'd like to see? A new reality show.
CO-PRESIDENTS!
"Now we all have to get along!"
Clinton had the majority of the votes. Trump had the majority of the country...and by a tremendous amount.
